Our History
In 1956 Gene Hamilton established Gene Hamilton Chevrolet, and the tradition of providing sales and services that the community could trust. Gene hired Sam Cupp in the late 1960's to join his son Don Hamilton in their growing family dealership. In 1983, Don Hamilton and Sam Cupp purchased the dealership from Don’s father Gene, continuing the family tradition as the dealership "Where customers send their friends!" In 2000, long-term employee and general manager, Michael Boguth, became a co-owner. In 2010, a 3rd generation of Hamilton (and Don’s son) David Hamilton came on board to learn business. Sam Cupp passed away in 2012 after decades of honoring Gene Hamilton's teachings, mentoring and employing thousands in several businesses, and always putting the customer first. Today in 2026, 4th generations of the Hamilton Family are learning the business headed by David, marking 3 generations working at our family owned and operated dealership! Service has always been a top priority at Hamilton Chevrolet, one of the country's largest Chevy dealers. Hamilton Chevrolet has been honored to receive General Motors "Mark of Excellence" award for superior sales and customer satisfaction a staggering 20 times since 1997!
