Leasing or buying a new General Motors car or truck is exciting! It's also a significant investment. Like any other investment, you want to make sure that it's protected. General Motors offers the GM Protection Plan to help you protect yourself from unexpected repair expenses, conveniently handle recommended maintenance, make sure any necessary repair work is performed in accordance with GM standards, and increase the value of your GM car or truck at resale time. All Protection Plans are transferable.

Major Guard: The GM Major Guard Protection Plan is the most comprehensive vehicle service contract back by General Motors. With virtually every component of your vehicle covered, even if it repairs are required due to wear and tear. The GM Protection Plan offers 24-hour-a-day roadside assistance anywhere in the United States and Canada. Alternate Transportation is provided whenever two or more labor hours are required for the repair.

Value Guard: The Value Guard Protection Plan is designed to provide protection for a wide array of components in eight major groups: Gasoline Engine, Transmission/Transaxle, Front/Rear-Wheel Drive, Steering, Front Suspension, Brakes, Electrical, and OEM Air Conditioning Systems. If a covered system fails, Value Guard will provide authorization for towing to the nearest GM repair facility.

Basic Guard: The Basic Guard Protection plan is coverage for the powertrain (engine and transmission). This lower-priced alternative is targeted to older model used vehicles and provides coverage for components in the following three categories: Gasoline Engine, Transmission/Transaxle, and Front/Rear Wheel Drive. It also provides the same towing provision as The Value Guard.
